Home Beautification on a Budget

We did these accent walls of bright orange. Unfortunately, they looked a little blank. My wife came upon a concept that seemed to suit us fine.
Start with a canvas. Buy some lightweight spackle and a notched putty knife. Apply the putty in a pattern. Waves; swoops, you name it. Next, choose some colors of poster paint that you like and paint broad sections. Segregate the colors with a bordering color. In this case, we use black to make a nice divide. It's cheap, it's easy to and it's kind of fun.
